A different side of the story

Most of you know me for the thrillers.

The twists, the dark psychology, the characters who keep secrets that could burn their lives to the ground. But there's another side to me, one that's been there all along, running underneath everything I write and everything I do.

Faith through it all

I've been through storms that should have broken me. Some I saw coming. Others hit without warning. A few are still raging. I'm not writing about faith from the other side of the struggle, where everything worked. I'm writing from the middle of it. From the place where your knees hit the floor and the only word you can get out is Jesus. That's where I've lived more times than I can count. And every single time, every storm, every battle, every season that felt like it would swallow me whole, He carried me through. He met me in the flood and held my head above the water. He blessed me in the very places the enemy meant to destroy me.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you."

Isaiah 43:2

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

2 Corinthians 4:8–9

More and more, I feel Him calling me to use the gifts He's placed in my hands; this voice, this ability to put words on a page, to be a light. To share what He's done and what He's still doing. My thrillers are one calling. This is another. These books come from a different place in me, but they come from the same God who gave me the words for both.

My first nonfiction book

My first nonfiction book is the first time I've lived my faith out loud on the page. It Is Finished: Overcoming the Pain of Sexual Trauma Through the Healing Power of Jesus is part memoir, part message, written for women who are carrying wounds they never asked for and haven't been able to put down. It's a call to healing. Not the kind the world offers, where you learn to manage the pain. The kind where God meets you in it and makes you whole.
